For the first half of this book, I was frustrated! But in a good way! This is definitely fan fiction because the story is not believable at all, but it is ADDICTING! Tortured hero stories are the best. The author did a good job of making me like the characters without including too much background on them, which was surprising because I usually like background, but it shows how good the author is. I love dialogue, so I would have appreciated more dialogue between Remy and Brooke. I loved that dialogue that was there. The ending was predictable, but I was still on the edge of my seat, especially during the last fight. I thought Remy was going to pull a “Rocky” and finally start punching, but then I realized what he was really doing. After the fight, the story ended on a low point. I came away from the book feeling “eh.” But there were definite times in the book that I loved, so she could have ended the book a little better. I felt like Brooke and Remy still don’t know each other very well, which is probably why the author is writing a sequel.I don’t think I would read the book again.
