There are only two reasons why you leave someone you’re still in love with – either it’s the right thing to do, or it’s the only thing to do.This book is disgustingly beautiful. It is darkness, and it is light. It is profound. It is spiritual, in a sense. How Ms. Reiz took an erotic book and made it spiritual is still blowing my mind….but she did. She redefined the meaning of sex and the meaning of love. Ms. Reiz took a hold of my brain and squeezed it like lemon. She took a hold of my heart and lifted it up only for it to crash to hell. I never understood the saying, All is fair in love and war, but Ms. Reiz has shown me the meaning of it through this book.Nora – BAD ASS!!! She is complicated. She lacks vulnerability. Soren describes her perfectly, which is fitting, since he’s known her since she was fifteen. She is a child. She doesn’t know who she is or what she wants. We watch Nora grow up in this book, emotionally. She exudes a confidence from which most women could take notes. Not once does it mention that she was insecure about her body, etc. In the words of Soren, Eleanor is always joking. Eleanor is never joking. In the words of Nora, I’m on my own now. I love who I love. I fuck who I fuck. From Soren to Nora - If you come back to me, will you run or will you crawl?.......I’ll fly.Zach – interesting character. He is so dynamic. I love his story in this book. God, I love a man with a big vocabulary.Wesley - God, I love Wesley. You know why?...It’s simple…Because he makes her laugh. He is simple, easy. Wesley is the good man. The young man. When Soren touched her she became his. When Wesley touched her, she became herself.Soren is the name of whispers, especially at the beginning. He is practically worshipped, which is ironic, considering (wink). He is an enigma. He is difficult to describe. Soren is like Dracula, only not a vampire. He is….good….I think? Lol! He loved me without fear, without guilt, without failing and without flinching every day of my life. He’s the only man who never hurt me.Here are a couple of my favorite quotes from this book that seem to summarize the book well:No pain, no palm; no thorns, no throne; no gall, no glory; no cross, no crown. – William PennMany waters cannot quench love. Rivers cannot wash it away. – Song of Solomon 8:7
